The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a longstanding partner and one of the top 10 leading donors of UNAIDS. In 2017 Luxembourg devoted EUR 4,450,000 million to UNAIDS, or 57% of all its multilateral HIV-related development assistance.

A consistent, flexible, generous donor to UNAIDS, the Grand Duchy has taken an active role in the planning and implementation of global HIV-related priorities.

With Luxembourg’s support, UNAIDS continues to inspire progress in the global HIV response. An estimated 21.7 million people had access to antiretroviral therapy at the end of 2017, five and a half times more than in 2007. Expanding the treatment coverage drove a 34% reduction in deaths from AIDS-related illness between 2010 and 2017.
